Link-in-Bio Guide: Creating, Customising, and Growing Your Link Page

A Link-in-Bio page gives you a single, mobile-optimised landing page to share all your important links in one place. This guide covers how to set up your page, customise it, and use advanced features like branded domains and analytics.

Social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok typically only allow one link in your profile. A Link-in-Bio page solves this by acting as a hub for all your content. When visitors click the link in your profile, they are taken to a custom page featuring multiple links, images, and social icons.

Who needs it?

  • Creators: Share your latest videos, merch store, and social profiles.
  • Brands: Direct followers to new product drops, blog posts, and campaigns.
  • Small Businesses: Provide quick access to booking forms, menus, and contact info.

Creating Your First Page

Setting up a Link-in-Bio page takes just a few minutes.

  1. Go to the Link-in-Bio tab in your SimpleURL dashboard.
  2. Click Create New Page.
  3. Choose a name (for your own reference) and a custom slug (e.g., smplu.link/my-page).
  4. Start adding content!

Customising Your Page

The editor lets you add and arrange different types of content blocks:

  • Links: Standard text links to any URL.
  • Images: Add visual banners or product photos.
  • Social Icons: Link directly to your Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc.

You can drag and drop these blocks to reorder them, ensuring your most important links are always at the top.

Plan Limits

The number of Link-in-Bio pages you can create depends on your plan.

If you manage multiple brands or campaigns, upgrading to PRO2 or TEAM allows you to create dedicated pages for each.

Connecting a Branded Domain — HOBBY and Above

Plan availability: HOBBY · PRO2 · TEAM

Instead of using the default smplu.link/your-slug, you can host your Link-in-Bio page on your own custom domain (e.g., links.yourbrand.com).

This significantly improves brand recognition and trust.

To set this up, first connect your domain on the Branded Domains page. Once connected, you can select it from the domain dropdown when creating or editing your Link-in-Bio page.

Understanding how visitors interact with your Link-in-Bio page is crucial for optimising your content.

SimpleURL provides detailed analytics for your pages:

  • Total Visits: See how many people viewed your page.
  • Click Tracking: See exactly which links on your page are getting the most clicks.
  • Geographic Data (HOBBY+): See which countries your visitors are from.
  • City & Device Data (PRO2+): Get granular insights into the specific cities and devices (mobile vs desktop) driving traffic.

You can access these analytics by clicking the bar chart icon next to your page in the dashboard.

Best Practices

  • Keep it concise: Don't overwhelm visitors with too many links. Stick to your top 3-5 priorities.
  • Use clear headings: Organise your links with descriptive titles so visitors know exactly what they're clicking.
  • Update regularly: Keep your page fresh by rotating links based on your current campaigns or latest content.
  • Use images strategically: Break up text-heavy pages with images or banners to draw attention to key promotions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I have multiple Link-in-Bio pages? Yes, if you are on the PRO2 plan (5 pages) or TEAM plan (50 pages).

Can I use my own domain? Yes, HOBBY plans and above can connect custom branded domains to their pages.

What happens to my page if I downgrade my plan? If you downgrade to a plan with fewer allowed pages, your existing pages will remain active, but you won't be able to edit them or create new ones until you are back within your plan limit.
